About Us

 Coach Diane

2001 - 2009

State of Hawaii
Baton Twirling Chair  AAU 2004- 2009

Coach Diane, twirled for 4 years as a member of the Kailua High School Majorettes and Flag Twirling team.  She was selected captain in her senior year and during her tenor as captain the team won many 1st and 2nd place awards from the Aloha Week and Fourth of July Parade competitions.

Her desire is to help students gain the same benefits from baton twirling that she found beneficial as a teen. Baton Twirling as a physically healthy sport, was a deterrence to drugs. Baton twirling increased her skill, finesse and poise.  Self directed discipline, increased self confidence and a healthy sense of social and individual responsibility was a bi-product of the rigorous training.

You will See Sassafras Twirlers volunteering at local community, public and private events.

She is absolutely honored to be working with such awesome youth and adults and delighted to be a pioneer in returning the sport of baton twirling to the State of Hawii! It is her hope that someday one of her students would be a featured twirler at the University of Hawaii or perhaps a finalist in the Jr. Olympics.

Student Coach Meredith

Motto

Pace your Grace and you will  shine.

Statement
Individual twirling instruction in a group setting allows students to grow at their own pace.

Philosophy

We use a progressive approach to teach skill building.  Because of this technique not only are we able to offer students the ability to learn at their own pace we are also able to offer ongoing registration so that no one needs to be wait-listed.

Outcome

When students learn at their own pace they achieve, increased self esteem, physicial agility, strength, discipline, finess, grace and poise. As a natural biproduct of being an active team member they experience a sense of belonging and in many instances develop life long friends.
